cray pot anodes
Aluminium sacrificial anodes trusted by New Zealand's commercial cray fishing industry.
Craypots operate in some of the harshest corrosion environments in the marine industry. Constant immersion, seabed contact, and mechanical wear can quickly lead to corrosion of steel components if they are not properly protected. Sacrificial aluminium anodes provide a simple, reliable way to extend the life of pots, frames, and associated hardware.
Our craypot anodes are designed for durability, ease of installation, and consistent performance in seawater, and are widely used across commercial cray fisheries.
1.5 kg Aluminium Weld-On Anode
This is the most commonly used craypot anode. The compact design allows it to be easily welded onto steel pot frames, providing effective corrosion protection while minimising snagging or interference with pot handling.
Typical features:• 1.5 kg aluminium sacrificial anode• Weld-on installation for secure attachment• Proven performance in commercial pot fisheries• Suitable for most standard steel craypot designs
This anode provides a cost-effective solution for commercial operators requiring reliable protection.
2 kg Aluminium Bolt-On Anode
The 2 kg bolt-on anode is commonly used in areas where heavier-duty mounting is preferred, including fleets operating around the Chatham Islands. The bolt-on configuration allows for quick installation or replacement without welding.
Typical features:• 2 kg aluminium sacrificial anode• Bolt-on installation• Ideal where welding is not practical
